Dr. David A. Ortiz is the Founding Director of the Graduate Support Center and Assistant Professor in Graduate Studies & Research at the University of the Incarnate Word. He has worked in higher education for nearly twenty years as a faculty member and administrator including positions at Indiana University, Oklahoma State, Baylor University and Concordia University Texas. Dr. Ortiz earned his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from Indiana University-Bloomington. He holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Texas A&M University.

Cris Bazaldua graduated with his Bachelor of Arts from UIW in May of 2010 with a major in English and a minor in Psychology. He is currently working on his masters in adult education. In his spare time Cris enjoys playing video games, chess, traveling and is an avid Spurs and Cowboys fan.

Trinidad Macias is from Corpus Christi, TX and is a second year doctoral student with a concentration in International Education and Entrepreneurship. She has a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from St. Edward’s University and a Master of Arts in Political Science with an emphasis in International Politics from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She plans to become an education policy analyst and researcher. Trini’s interests include running, traveling, and learning new languages.

 

Vanessa Wilson, Graduate Assistant

Vanessa Wilson is a San Antonio native and graduate of L.W. Fox Technical High School. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin where she worked as a social psychology research assistant and served in many leadership organizations. Vanessa is currently working on her Master of Health Administration. She enjoys being outdoors, the company of friends, and spending time with family.
