Endowments
An endowment is a gift held in perpetuity by the University. A
portion of its average annual investment return is used for purposes
specified by you. The remaining investment return is added to the
endowment’s principal to guard against inflation, thus ensuring
the value of the principal. The principal
is never spent. You and other donors may add to the principal at
anytime and/or through your estate plan.
