Welcome to the Foreign Languages Department at the University of the Incarnate Word! Here you will be able to find information about our program, our faculty, upcoming events, courses being offered, and interesting information about studying foreign languages.

Our goal is to provide the highest quality instruction to our students, while at the same time preparing students for life, leadership, and careers in a changing, multicultural world. Students in our language courses develop skills in listening comprehension, speaking, reading, and writing, as well as cultural sensitivity.

The following languages are offered at the University of the Incarnate Word: Spanish (major, minor), Portuguese, French, Chinese, Japanese, German, and Italian.
