About Us

The Office of Financial Assistance (OFA) at University of the Incarnate Word houses a dedicated group of professionals committed to the common goal of helping students achieve their educational potential by partnering with students to provide resources that remove financial barriers and provide access to UIW.

The primary purpose of financial aid is to provide resources to the students who would otherwise be unable to pursue a post-secondary education. At UIW, we believe that all students should be able to attend the university that best suits their academic and personal needs.

The decision to attend a university is an important milestone in your life. The financial aid process can be confusing, and we hope the information we provide on this site will help to ease your anxieties. If you have issues of a more specific or personal nature, or if you just need to sit down with someone and go through things in greater detail, you can see a walk in counselor. No appointment is required. We also provide assistance via email.

Our office can assist you with: your FAFSA forms each year, borrowing options and loan programs, and information on scholarship opportunities. In order to serve you better, we do ask that you notify our office before making certain academic decisions, like changing programs (Undergraduate to Graduate, Undergraduate to the School of Professional Studies, etc), dropping courses, complete withdrawal from UIW, or enrolling in study abroad programs. We are here to assist you and look forward to working with you in the coming years.
