The University of the Incarnate Word is proud to announce that Centro Universitario Incarnate Word, UIW’s campus located in Mexico City, conferred degrees to twenty eight graduates at their spring commencement ceremony held Friday, June 1, 2012. A Baccalaureate Mass for the graduates and their families was also held.
The CIW students graduated with the following degrees: nutrition, psychology, international business, marketing, and banking and finance. Dr. Jaime Velázquez, an economist from the University of Panamericana in Mexico City, delivered the commencement address.
In 2003, CIW opened as a way for students in Mexico to earn dual undergraduate college degrees from an American university that are fully recognized on both sides of the border by each country’s respective education agencies. In Fall 2004, the campus had 25 students in only three programs. Today, CIW offers 10 programs and in Fall 2012 student enrollment will reach 700.
