The UIW Strasbourg Scholarship is designed to be utilized for students who intend to study abroad at UIW-Strasbourg. The award can be applied only towards tuition for either the Fall/Spring semester.

Amount

Up to $5,000.00. Awards will be applied towards the tuition only.

Notes

The International Affairs Office is not obligated to award any funds.

Application Requirements

  1. Download and complete the application.
  2. Email the completed application to the Study Abroad Office at studyabroad@uiwtx.edu.
  3. Application must be submitted at least two-weeks before departure.

Fall/Spring Academic semester

Deadline

  1. Fall semester: June 1
  2. Spring semester: November 1

Eligibility

Students must:

  • Be an undergraduate student at the University of the Incarnate Word
  • Be in good academic standing, and have a minimum 2.5 GPA
  • Be degree seeking
  • Completing or have completed an application to attend UIW- Strasbourg
  • Submit all completed study abroad paperwork (Request to Study Abroad Form, Consortium Form, Payment Deferral Form)
  • Be financially qualified
  • Do not have any financial/business office holds

If financially qualified, the scholarship will automatically apply towards the tuition of the program.

Number of Awards

Multiple funding for the UIW-Strasbourg Scholarship is limited and is funded per fiscal year. Once the scholarship funds are exhausted, scholarships will no longer be awarded.

The Gilman scholarship provides awards up to $5,000 for undergraduate students receiving a Pell Grant and interested in studying abroad. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen in good standing at UIW and enrolling in a credit-based study abroad program.

Eligibility Checklist

  • Must be receiving a Pell Grant
  • Accepted in a study abroad program eligible for credit at home university
  • Study at least 4 weeks in one country
  • Any country except Cuba or a country on State Department's travel warning list
  • Study during Fall, Spring or academic year (summer programs not eligible)

Deadlines

  • Fall semester/academic year - early March
  • Spring semester - early October
