The University of the Incarnate Word will present the 2013 edition of The Cutting Edge Fiesta® Fashion Show on Monday, April 22.
The show features student designers from the UIW Fashion Design program. Student designers plan and produce their collection while enrolled in the fashion design capstone courses during their senior year. Each designer is responsible for implementing all phases of the collection, which included sketching the idea, creating the pattern, and constructing the garment. The individual collection of six garments may focus on a particular season, color, or market segment.
This annual event, which will be celebrating its 33rd year is produced entirely by merchandising and design students – from sound and lighting, to staging and contracting professional models – students experience every aspect of planning and implementing a professional runway fashion show.
