The 2010 Cutting Edge Fiesta® Fashion Show
The University of the Incarnate Word will hold the 2010 Cutting Edge Fiesta® Fashion Show presented by Mercedes Benz of San Antonio, an official Fiesta® event, on Monday, April 19 at the Marriott Rivercenter Ballroom in downtown San Antonio.
The perennially sold-out show will begin with the runway event at 11:30 a.m. and lunch will immediately follow.
Tables of 10 are available for $1,000 (second row), $750 (third and fourth row), and individual seats may be purchased for $75 each. Show only tickets may be purchased for $25 each. For ticket information, call 210-829-6013; a ticket order form may also be downloaded here.
This year, raffle items have been donated by Tiffany and Co. Tickets cost $20 each, or six tickets for $100. You could win a Tiffany feathers pendant in 18K white gold on an 18” chain, with 0.52 carats of diamonds and a retail value of $3,500. Also in the drawing is a sterling silver Return to Tiffany™ Collection heart tag necklace in 16” length and matching bracelet in a 7.5” length with a retail value of $510. The drawing will be held at The Cutting Edge Fiesta® Fashion Show on April 19, and you don’t need to be present to win. The show features student designers from the UIW Fashion Design program. Student designers plan and produce their collection while enrolled in the fashion design capstone courses during their senior year. Each designer is responsible for implementing all phases of the collection, which included sketching the idea, creating the pattern, and constructing the garment. The individual collection of six garments may focus on a particular season, color, or market segment.
This annual event, which is celebrating its 30th year, is produced entirely by the merchandising and design students at UIW – from sound and lighting, to staging and contracting professional models – students experience every aspect of planning and implementing a professional runway fashion show.
