How many garments will be in your collection? 6

What is the central theme or concept of your collection?

The color green and vintage reconstruction.

How would you best describe your design style?

As I am a student of design, I am still trying to find my design style and am not committing myself to one particular style as much as I am playing around with diverse ideas. But at this particular time in my life, I seem to find an enormous interest in vintage reconstruction.

How and when did you become interested in design?

It was never as much becoming interested in design as much as it was a passion since I was in grade school- 2 nd to be exact. Since it was so far back, the only memories I have of how I became passionate over design is a feeling of being incredibly inspired by the pictures in the magazines and an urge at the pit of my soul to design.

What types of silhouettes will you be presenting?

I have 5 evening to casual dresses and 1 pant-suit that I will be presenting, 3 of which are reconstructed from vintage garments.

What were your inspirations for this collection?

I was initially most inspired by Green and vintage fabrics, so I collaborated the two by implementing them both together and separately with shades of green or colors that compliment it and the reconstruction of actual vintage garments into my own design.

What fabrics will you be using?

Silk chiffon, silk georgette, silk charmuse, and vintage garments of polyester and cotton to be reconstructed.

What important detail work should be noticed?

The beaded work, the roushing, the cowls, design lines and the uses of the vintage fabrics from vintage garments.

What designer(s) do you admire, or would most like to work with and why?

I admire Zac Posen for his creativity, design elements and look to him for inspiration to keep working because of his age and success. I would like to work with him for all those reasons as well. My dream would be to work with John Galliano because I feel the he is the pinnacle of design. His creativity and couture work never stops to amaze me and to have him as a mentor could be no end to my learning more and more of design.

Other interests and hobbies:

I have a large interest in political science, and women’s studies. When I have time, my hobbies are painting, and reading.
