How many garments will be in your collection?

Six Garments.

What is the central theme or concept in your collection?

My central theme is glam meets and greets rock-n-roll.

How would you best describe your design style?

My design style is all about cut outs with flares of color coming through, lots of layering and embellishments. I have done a lot of inside out de-constructive with a fringe twist.

How and when did you become interested in design?

When I was a little girl I used to play with my Barbie’s and Barbie always had events to go to, so I would make clothes out of hair bands, belts, old shirts and just come up with different ideas for every event. Then as I got older I noticed that fashion was still in my head and I couldn’t get the fashion bug out of me. So I thought maybe this is it…maybe this is my calling…and here I am.

What was your inspiration for this collection?

My inspirations came from a designer I was working for in Los Angeles and I was helping her with her shirt collection and she was using old vintage t-shirts and mixing it with other types of material. When I had sewn a seam with wrong sides together I noticed how cool it would be once it frayed. I loved the look that it gave, then I was at the mall looking around and I saw a Roberto Cavalli dress that had the same idea. It gave me a boost of confidence and made me realize there are no rules in fashion, you can make your own rules and it’s all about trying new things and going with the flow.

What kind of fabric will you be using?

Mostly silks.

What important detail work should be noticed?

All of the embellishments.

What designer do you admire, or would most like to work with and why?

Roberto Cavalli, would be my choice to work with he his an amazing designer, he doesn’t follow the rules and he is extremely creative. The reason I would love to work with him is because we have the same imagination. We both take a challenge to come up with something new and exciting and it would be great to see… what two minds could create.
