What is the central theme or concept in your collection?
Elegant eveningwear.
How would you best describe your design style?
Sophisticated and elegant. I design things that I would enjoy wearing
or using. I imagine how wearing the garment would make me feel.
How and when did you become interested in design?
I think that I was born with a pencil in my hand! I've been an artist
all my life. I love being creative. I crave it.
What types of silhouettes will you be presenting?
Tubular and bell shaped.
What was (were) your inspiration(s) for this collection?
My mother, Irene Davis, has inspired me throughout my life with
her classic sense of style.
What fabrics will you be using?
Velvet, organza, satin, shantung, faux fur, and (believe it or not)
upholstery fabric.
What important detail work should be noticed?
The silk organza interfacing.
What designer(s) do you admire, or would most like to work with
and why?
I like Ralph Lauren for his classic and elegant style. I also admire
Oscar de la Renta for his negotiation skills. I favor classic designs
because they never go out of style.
Describe yourself as a designer in five words or less.
Fun, feminine, flirty and classic.
Other interests or hobbies?
I enjoy spending time outdoors with my husband and two children.
I also enjoy reading and watching old movies.
