How many garments will be in your collection?
Between eight and ten.

What is the central theme or concept in your collection?
Visual Unity through mirrored color and texture, supported by a sharply defined and repetitive silhouette.

How would you best describe your design style?
Mod-Chic, Sensual, with a slight androgynous tone.

How and when did you become interested in design?
My earliest memories are of painting and craft projects in pre-school, then to art classes in junior high, and eventually to fashion sketches in high school up until my enrollment at Incarnate Word. I've always been interested in art and designing of some kind, form music and architecture to hair and textile design. I've always been extremely fond of and sensitive to color. Where would I be without them? I now find myself in a situation where I can manipulate those colors and textures as a true artist and make a positive impression. An impression that may stir the creativity in us all.

What types of silhouettes will you be presenting?
My silhouettes are made up of a few simple shapes repeated in different colors, textures and fabrics. I believe that a balanced collection should not overwhelm the audience's palate by many excessive or fussy shapes unless that is the entire movement of that particular collection.

What was (were) your inspiration(s) for this collection?
I've always admired Asian design and its culture for its rich spiritual and cosmological symbolism and history. I've decided to evoke a subtle hint of its flavor through soft kimono inspired tops and hand-dyed Shibori style silks. I also enjoy futuristic synergies of masculine and feminine line. I added a preppy, back-to-school nostalgic feel that I see as a quickly up and coming fashion trend.

What fabrics will you be using?
Again I tried to maintain a strong valued collection by using staple natural fibers such as wool and silk and supplementing with a few synthetics where design required or was better supported by it.

What important detail work should be noticed?
Hand-dyed silk work, plaid placement and execution, and hand pleating. My working aspect includes many meticulous couture finishes not common in a prêt-a-porter.

What designer(s) do you admire, or would most like to work with and why?
I admire an extensive number of designers all for different wonderful reasons. But, if I could work with a handful I have an immediate few that come to mind. First of all, I would have to work with my first love, Jean-Paul Gautier. His innovations in unique avant-garde sportswear and androgynous silhouettes are amazing. I would like to get a few pointers and see the madman in action. I would like to work with Tom Ford for his fashion world-renowned business savvy. And, generally speaking, I would truly enjoy an internship with a classic designer such as Christian LaCroix or Cristobal Balenciaga because of their rich heritage in a royal line of couturiers.

Describe yourself as a designer in five words or less.
Rebellious, fantastically inspired, articulate colorist
