Our Hearts and Prayers are with those who perished and survived Hurricane Katrina

Lord, by your own suffering, death
and resurrection you give hope to
all who suffer and face the horror
of powerlessness.
Give comfort and hope to those who
are facing extraordinary trials in the
whole Gulf coast region.
Send women and men of generosity
and courage to help in the rescue
and care of your suffering people.
In our own powerlessness
and in our compassion for
our sisters and brothers,
we place our trust in you
We ask this in union with all who
place their hope in you.
Amen
