'Why Women Kill' Film Screening

Free Battered Texas Women in conjunction with the University of the Incarnate Word’s Criminal Justice Department and Women & Gender Studies Program present the BBC documentary “Why Women Kill” (1992). This free movie, open to the public, examines the dynamics between the women who survive; the men who batter; and the society that incarcerates. The post-film panel includes criminal justice researchers, victim advocates, and a formerly incarcerated survivor: William S. Bush, Texas A&M, PhD; Professor of History, Texas A&M University-San Antonio; Patricia S. Castillo, L.M.S.W., P.E.A.C.E. Initiative; Cathy Marston, PhD, Free Battered Texas Women; and Doshie Piper, PhD, Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice, UIW.
