“A painter of light, color, and the South Texas anima, Sarah
Benson has been a passionate artist in this region since the
1970s. This exhibition is a retrospective of her work spanning
almost five decades of her paintings. Her early work was
a mix of representational and abstract painting styles.
However, in recent times her body of work has focused
exclusively on abstract visions, this exhibition features work
from 1978 through the present day. Sarah is an alumna of
UIW with a B.A. degree in Interior Design and holds a B.F.A.
degree from UTSA as well.” ~Roberto José Gonzalez
