In May of 2005, Congress enacted a law stating that educational institutions that receive Federal funds must hold an educational program on the United States Constitution commemorating the September 17, 1787 signing of the Constitution.
Ben Keathley, a councilman from Chesterfield, MO (fast-growing St. Louis suburb) and attorney-at-law in Missouri and Illinois, will be the UIW Constitution Day speaker. He's going to talk about the role of local government in our constitutional tradition based on some of his experiences as a young representative.
