Program Events

The Summer 2006 cohort of 9 students is finishing its first semester in preparation for the Brazil internship. They took Portuguese language and History of Portuguese America.  This semester also included a lecture on Brazil’s educational system.

The 9 students going to Brazil next summer are: BRENDA HERNANDEZ, CHRISTINA A. LOPEZ, DIANA CARRILLO, GLADYS FERNANDEZ, EMILIA HOWARD, EUM JI HYUN, RICARDO DELGADO, STEPHANIE SMITH and TERESITA DE ALBA CALONJE.

Students in the Summer 2005 group have completed their requirements to receive a certificate of completion of the summer internship. This certificate verifies they have completed 21 credit hours in Latin American Studies with concentration in Brazil. Their names are: Andrew Mondragon, Danhee Kim, Elva Salinas, Jason Delgado, Joseph Alecozay and Renata Y. MacDonald-Rogers.

Applications  are currently being taken for the Brazil internship in Summer 2007!
