CARDINALS LOSE HARD-FOUGHT FINALS MATCH There were some speed bumps along the road for Incarnate Word and at the end the Cardinals could not overcome them all as St. Edward’s won the 2009 Heartland Conference women’s tennis championship by a 5-3 count.

UIW ADVANCES TO HEARTLAND FINALS Down the line was key for Incarnate Word Friday as the Cardinals defeated Dallas Baptist 6-3 to advance to the final match of the Heartland Conference championship tournament.
