Cardinals Eliminated from Conference Tourney The 2008 Incarnate Word Cardinal softball season came to a close when UIW dropped two games in the Heartland Conference Championship Tournament. The Cardinals first lost a 3-1 decision to tournament favorite St. Mary’s and moved into the loser’s bracket and faced St. Edward’s for the second time in two days. May 1 2008, 10:51 PMCardinals Win, Will Face St. Mary's Friday at Noon The Incarnate Word Cardinals defeated the St. Edward’s Hilltoppers when it counted, in the Heartland Conference Championship Tournament. In the 2-1 Cardinal win, UIW advances to the winner’s bracket of the tournament and will face St. Mary’s Friday at noon. The win gives UIW a 31-24 overall record. read more
April 29 2008, 5:59 PMSoftball Tournament Bracket Announced The Incarnate Word Cardinals will face the St. Edward’s Hilltoppers in the opening round of the Heartland Conference Championships. The tournament is being hosted by St. Mary’s and will start on Thursday. UIW and St. Ed’s will face off at 1:30 p.m. from Rattler Field. read more
