DIRECTIONS TO SAN ANTONIO STATE SCHOOL -- posted Tuesday, October 16 2007
The San Antonio State School is located off of 281 South and Pecan Valley Drive. If you are traveling 281 South (37 South to Corpus Christi and through downtown SA) take Pecan Valley to the right (west) and follow until you see the state school at the next intersection. Drive through the front gates of the school and follow the road to the left. Check in will be next to the pavilion on the left. The start and finish will be in close to proximity to the pavilion.
From Laredo, TX:
I-35 North to I-10 E exit #153 toward Del Rio/Houston
Keep right at the fork and merge onto I-10 East
Take US 281 S exit #574 towards Corpus/Johnson City
Keep right at fork and merge into I-37 S
Take Pecan Valley exit and turn right onto Pecan Valley
Travel to gate.
From Corpus Christi, TX:
I-37 S to Pecan Valley
Turn left onto Pecan Valley (go under I-37) and travel to gate
From Austin, TX:
I-35 S to I-37 exit #158B toward Corpus
Merge onto I-37 and take Pecan Valley exit
Turn right on Pecan Valley and travel to gate
From San Angelo, TX:
I-10 E to I-35 N exit #570
Merge onto I-35 N to I-37 S exit #158
Take I-37 S toward Corpus/Johnson City
Keep right at fork

2007 Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships

– 281 South and Pecan Valley Dr. For Map Quest, the address is: 6711 S. New Braunfels San Antonio, TX 78223-3009. When looking for hotels, the State School is located just south of downtown San Antonio and is very convenient to I-35 South, I-10, 281 (37 S.). There are numerous hotels within 3-4 miles of the course. Incarnate Word’s physical address is: 4301 Broadway San Antonio, TX 78209.
Time:
Course opens at Noon, October 20th
5:45 PM – Women’s 5K
6:30 PM – Men’s 8K
Course Description:
3 loops for the men with a 320m straight start and finish and 2 loops for the women with the same start and finish
Surface:
100% grass, flat, good footing, and fast loops
Shoes: Spikes/waffles recommended
Course Inspection:
The park will be open all day Thursday 10/18 until dark. The course will be completely marked by Thursday @ 5:00 PM. Maps are available on the website on the Course Map link (course map is currently being revised and will be available ASAP). We are currently making the course more spectator friendly and easier for the athletes to navigate.
Declaration:
Coaches may declare their athletes at the San Antonio State School, Friday, Oct. 19 from 4:00-6:00 PM or at the coaches meeting Friday, Oct. 19 at 6:30 PM at the pavilion directly behind the start and finish line (the large building across the street and behind the start). Natatorium is caddy corner to the track and convocation facility and across the parking lot from the tennis courts. The coaches meeting will be short.
Entries:
Teams may enter up to 15 runners; top seven will be used in scoring. E-mail all entries to Coach Bree Soileau by Tuesday, October 09 @ breesoileau@gmail.com. Please title subject line: 2007 Heartland XC meet.
Awards:
Conference Awards will be presented 30 minutes after the completion of the men’s race to provide a protest period and proper scoring of the meet at the San Antonio State School pavilion.
