Moisés J. Torrescano, Director of Academic Advising & Student Disability Services

Mr. Moises Torrescano oversees the University Advising Center and the Office of Student Disability Services. He is a first-generation college student.  Mr. Torrescano’s experience in higher education administration expands over 25 years. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Washington State University and a Master’s Degree in Adult Education from The Pennsylvania State University.   Mr. Torrescano can be reached by e-mail at: moisest@uiwtx.edu or by phone 210 829-3928. Kedra Grant-Brinkley, Academic Counselor/Area Coordinator

Kedra Grant-Brinkley, Academic Counselor, is a first-generation college student and is an alumni of UIW, completing her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing in December 2008. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Adult Education at UIW. Mrs. Grant-Brinkley is the Area Coordinator for the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the Dreeben School of Education.

Sara Ann Leal, Academic Counselor/Area Coordinator

Sara Ann Leal, Academic Counselor, is a first-generation college student and alumni of Our Lady of the Lake University, where she received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing in 2005. Ms. Leal is currently pursuing her Masters of Education in Adult Education from UIW. She is the Area Coordinator for the HEB School of Business and Administration and the School of Nursing and Health Professions.

Dora Garner, Academic Counselor/Area Coordinator

Dora Garner, Academic Counselor, is an alumna of UIW, completing her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology of Organizations and Development in 2005. Mrs. Garner is the Area Coordinator for the School of Media and Design and the School of Math, Science and Engineering.

Michelle Beasley, Coordinator, Student Disability Services

Michelle Beasley is the Coordinator for the Office of Student Disability Services. Ms. Beasley has served UIW in different capacities for the past nine years. The last two and a half years she served as an academic counselor with the Adult Degree Completion Program. Ms. Beasley received her Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Management from UIW in 2009. She is presently completing an MBA at UIW.

Janie Rios, Administrative Secretary

Janie Rios is the newest addition to the University Advising Center, serving as the administrative secretary.
