Hey there everyone! My name is Michael Anthony Rivera but most people know me as Mike. I am a freshman here at the University of the Incarnate Word, and I will be majoring in Business in hopes of one day getting my MBA. I graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in the sparkling city of Corpus Christi, where I lived for more than 12 years.Michael Rivera

Throughout my years in high school, I honestly never worried about which college I was going to attend. It wasn’t until the beginning of my senior year when I realized that I really had to get on the ball and get serious about my life; I began to gather insight from others who were already attending school here. Not too long after this, Heather Rodriguez, the Assistant Director of Admissions, came to our school to talk to us about the university. I can still remember asking question after question and having Heather answer them so willingly. After learning more about the school I had decided that UIW was definitely going to be the school for me.

I came to orientation this summer and I met with many of the staff members.  I remember having this warm welcoming feeling from everyone which really made me feel at home. I liked the fact that the classes here at UIW are not extremely large and that as a student I would be more that a mere number to the professors. I loved the campus and I loved all the people that I had met.

I am currently taking 14 hours and am interested in joining Student Ambassadors. I work out daily at our school's Wellness Center and I enjoy meeting all of the awesome people on campus. I actually enjoy going to all of my classes, I like my professors because they treat me great, and I love everyone that I have met so far. I hope to become more involved with this school as time passes by and I hope to get as much out of the University as I possibly can. This school is definitely the place to be if one is interested in building a strong education foundation, building great friendships, and strengthen their faith.
