Hello everyone! My name is Lauren Wappelhorst, and I starting off my sophomore year here at UIW. I am studying Sociology with a minor in Spanish, hopefully heading off to law school after this. I plan to study abroad next year, so that should help with my language skills! I am 
currently involved with different organizations around campus including ambassadors, residence life, first year engagement, and campus ministry.
I am from Houston, but I love being here in San Antonio. My experience as a freshman could not be topped! I came in as a peer minister with campus ministry, and now I am charge of the university bible study. I got to DJ with our online radio, KUIW, and I got to spend this summer as an orientation leader. With all of the different organizations to get involved in, there are always events going on where you can meet new people!
The small community has really helped me succeed as a student. In high school I would have never thought it was possible, but I am on the Dean’s list! I have also been able to get to know a lot of different administrators which has opened the doors to new opportunities within the community. There are a lot of different things I want to do with my life, and I know that my experience at Incarnate Word will help me accomplish them!
