Meet UIW Students

Hey! My name is Bridget Murphy. I am a sophomore at Incarnate Word, majoring in Nursing. I am also in Army ROTC. I came to the University from a private school in St. Louis, Missouri. It has been one of the greatest adventures in my life so far.

When I first came to Incarnate Word, I had no idea what to expect. But it doesn’t take too long to figure it out. I came from a really small high school, so I felt better about going to a smaller university. It was one of the greatest decisions I could have made. The class sizes are small and you get to know your teachers and fellow students so well. Whatever help is needed teachers are willing to and do whatever they can to enable you to succeed.

I am involved in Student Ambassadors and ROTC. Student Ambassadors teaches me people skills and effective communication. Also, it allows me to be a bit more involved in the incoming student’s college journey. I plan to go into the military upon graduation and be a nurse. I would have not had this opportunity without the University. I am so proud to tell people that I go to the University of the Incarnate Word.
