Congratulations on your admission to UIW! We look forward to you joining our community. Following these steps will help ensure your successful enrollment.

1. Pay the $200 confirmation fee. (Full-Time students only)

Contact the Office of Financial Assistance at (210) 829-6008 if you have questions or visit the financial aid website at www.uiw.edu/finaid/

3. Determine if you want to take the challenge exam.
If you are required to take ALRH 0312 or MATH 0318 and feel you should be placed in a higher English or Math course, call the Testing Center at (210)829-3876 to schedule an appointment to take a challenge exam. To determine your course placement, click here.

4. Sign up for On-Campus Housing.

5. Orientation.
All new first-time freshman students are required to attend an orientation session. Transfer students are encouraged to attend, however it is not mandatory. Visit http://www.uiw.edu/admissions/orientation/index.htm for more information, and to sign up.

6. Advising
Advising for first-time freshman students takes place during orientation. Transfer advising occurs during orientation, and on specific advising dates. During advising, you will meet with an academic advisor who will assist you in selecting your courses and preparing a degree plan. Contac the University Advising Center at  (210) 829-5814 or 1-800-749-WORD. http://www.uiw.edu/advising/

7. Laptop
All UIW students are expected to arrive for study at UIW with appropriate laptop or tablet technology. To accomplish this goal, students have the option of purchasing a laptop or tablet computer from UIW or elsewhere. For those who purchase a laptop from UIW, laptop orientations are held during the beginning of the Fall and Spring semesters. You can register for the laptop orientation online in late August and early January. For more information contact the Help Desk: (210) 829-2721 or 1-800-749-Word. http://support.uiwtx.edu/helpdesk/laptop.html
