Cyterski-Acosta, Dean of Enrollment
A native of Pennsylvania who now calls Texas home, Andrea has over 20 years of admissions experience and is going on her ninth year as director of the Office of Admissions at the University of the Incarnate Word. She has a BS and MS from Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Heather Rodriguez,
Associate Director of Admissions
Heather is a San Antonio native and a graduate of Judson High School where she participated in the Starlite dance team. She graduated from The University of the Incarnate Word in 2006 with a B.A. in Communication Arts. While at Incarnate Word she was an active member of Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority, held various positions in other organizations including Student Ambassador, Events Coordinator. Heather is currently working towards her Master’s Degree in Education.
Heather is responsible for coordinating admissions Open Houses, Cardinal Overnighters, Saturday Campus Visit Days, and is the Student Ambassador Advisor. Heather also serves as the counselor for the following San Antonio high schools: Judson, Wagner, Antonian, St. Mary's Hall, and St. Gerard.

Javier Lara ,
Assistant Director of Admissions
Javier Lara is from El Paso, TX where he graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School. He graduated from Concordia University of Texas in Austin, TX earning a Bachelor of Arts double majoring in Communication and Behavioral Sciences. He is currently working on his Master’s degree in Human Sciences.

Janet Kaufman , Graduate Admissions Counselor
A New York native, Janet has received her Master of Arts degree in Criminology from the State University of New York at Albany. She is currently working on a second master's degree in Business Administration at UIW. She also has received an undergraduate degree in both Sociology and Criminal Justice from SUNY Albany, where she was active in Student Government and chair of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority. She initially started her UIW career in Residence Life, where she has realized the University's full support given from a personalized education that goes all the way through the faculty, administrators, staff, and student body. She is excited to assist prospective graduate and doctoral students with their continued studies here at UIW.

Elizabeth Levy,
Campus Visit Coordinator
Beth, a San Antonio native, graduated from Ronald Reagan High School, where she wrote for the school newspaper. She graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington where she actively engaged in student politics and diversity education. Beth is delighted to return to San Antonio and is currently working towards her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology.
Beth assists students and groups with planning their visits to the UIW campus and works closely with first-time freshmen and transfers students, as well.

Fabian Villalobos, Admissions Counselor
Fabian is from Poteet, TX where he attended Poteet High School. He graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. Fabian assists transfer students as well as freshman students with their college choice.
Fabian's territory includes the Laredo and Rio Grande Valley areas. He also works with the following San Antonio area schools and school districts: Holy Cross, Central Catholic, Burbank, Edison, Fox Tech, Highlands, Lanier, Harlandale ISD, Southside ISD, Southwest ISD, South San Antonio ISD, Edgewood ISD, and Poteet ISD.

Wanita Mercer, Admissions Counselor
Wanita Mercer, a Tennessee native, graduated third in her class from Health Professions High School at Edison in San Antonio, where she participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, HOSA, and Student Council. In 2006, she graduated from The University of the Incarnate Word with a B.A. in Fashion Management. While at UIW, she served as English Conversation Hour coordinator, tutored at the Learning Assistance Center and wrote for The Logos, the school paper. Wanita is currently working towards her M.A.A. with a concentration in Adult Education.
Wanita assists first-year freshmen with the admissions process and choosing an area of study. Wanita serves the Houston, Gulf Coast, Corpus Christi and Coastal Bend areas. She also serves as the counselor for the following San Antonio school districts: Northeast ISD, East Central ISD, Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD, Alamo Heights ISD, Floresville ISD, La Vernia ISD, Poth ISD, Somerset ISD, Jourdanton ISD, and a few private schools.

Maria Vasquez, Admissions Counselor
Maria is originally from Dallas, Texas and graduated from the School of Business and Management at the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center. She recently received a BBA in International Business and Marketing and a BA in Fashion Design and Fashion Merchandising from the University of the Incarnate Word.
Maria assists first-year freshman with the admissions process and choosing an area of study. Maria’s territories include the DFW, Austin, Waco areas as well as the north I-35 corridor. Maria serves as the counselor for the following San Antonio school districts: Northside ISD, Boerne ISD, Medina Valley ISD, Comal ISD, Bandera ISD, Seguin ISD, New Braunfels ISD, San Marcos ISD, Comfort ISD, Pleasanton ISD, Marion ISD, Ingram ISD, Lytle ISD, Pearsall ISD, and a few private schools.
