We are committed to making the transition from another institution as seamless as possible. The following admissions information pertains to UIW Main Campus programs. Factors for Admissions Consideration
The primary factor for transfer student admission into UIW is the student’s cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA). Applicants are advised that a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better is required for unconditional admission. Students may be admitted with less than a 2.5 GPA on the recommendation of the Admissions Committee. The Committee reserves the right to place conditions or requirements on the admittance of such a student. Other factors considered for admission may include letters of recommendation, a personal interview, extracurricular activities, and work experience.
Transfer Application Process
Transfer applicants are required to submit official transcripts from each institution attended, a completed application form, and the application fee. Students with fewer than 24 college credit hours are also required to submit an official high school transcript (with SAT or ACT scores) or official GED scores.
Applications for admission are accepted on a continual, or rolling basis, throughout the year for fall, spring, and summer semesters. However, it is recommended that the application process be completed in a timely fashion, allowing sufficient time to process financial aid awards.
Admission to any major at UIW is a separate process that begins early as the first semester of the sophomore year. Certain majors, such as Nursing, Nuclear Medical Science, and Computer Graphic Arts, may require specific pre-requisite courses and/or require separate admission processes to be completed before admission to the major. Consult individual program listings for such requirements.
