MISSION
We hold true to our foundation as a service-minded institution and recognize the bond of academic excellence between community colleges and the University of the Incarnate Word. The university is now offering a Phi Theta Kappa scholarship of $2000 starting Fall 2008. Each Phi Theta Kappa member from an accredited 2-year institution will be awarded the scholarship (pending verification of membership through the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society database). This scholarship is in addition to the generous merit awards and scholarships already available at UIW for transfer students.
AWARD PROCESS
Once a student applies to the University and is recognized as a Phi Theta Kappa member, the award is granted. Membership is verified through the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society database.
Scholarship can be used towards tuition only.
REQUIREMENTS
- Recipient must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society (pending verification through the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society database).
- Recipient must meet admissions acceptance criteria.
- Recipient should supply all college transcripts showing at least 12 hours or more with a cumulative GPA of 3.45 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
- Recipient must maintain continuous enrollment at the university as a full-time undergraduate student for the duration of the award period.
- This award is renewable each year provided recipient maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
This scholarship is effective beginning fall 2008. Part-time students, previous UIW students, ADCaP, Universe Online, and students with a previous bachelor’s degree are not eligible for this scholarship.
