ADCaP Undergraduate Admissions Policies
Guidelines for admission to ADCaP are:
- Applicants must be out of high school for at least 5 years.
- A grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 is suggested for admission to the University. Based on academic criteria, applicants may be asked to take an academic placement test.
- Applicants should have completed 3-years of full-time employment. (For the purpose of this program, an adult who has worked full-time inside the home for a minimum of 3-years will fulfill the employment requirement. A licensed RN entering the Alternate Pathway is exempt from this requirement.)
No Addmission can be completed, and no formal degree plan prepared, until we receive current (issued within the last 6 months) official transcripts from all post-secondary schools you have attended.
All decisions regarding the awarding of academic credit are made according to the procedures approved by the faculty, published in the UIW Bulletin.

Students applying for entry into the School of Extended Studies Masters of Business Administration or Masters of Arts and Administration programs must fulfill the general requirements for admission to the University of the Incarnate Word and the special requirements for admission to the HEB School of Business MBA and MAA programs.

New Student Orientation
All new and returning students to ADCaP must do the New Student Orientation before attending thier first ADCaP term.
- Learn the history and mission of UIW and the beginning of ADCaP,
- Learn what you will need to meet and speak with your Academic Advisor.
- Get information about the Business Office, the Registrar, Financial Aid, and Campus Ministry as well as other UIW departments,
- Library tutorials will explain the online access of library materials to assist you in your future school work, and
- you will gather some important information on study skills needed to succeed in your academic courses and ADCaP.
