Adult Degree Completion Program (ADCaP)

Number of Courses Per Term

ADCaP students take up to two courses per term in any combination at an ADCaP learning center or in combination with the Universe Online.

High academic standards resulting in maximum achievement of individual course and degree outcomes are the spirit and intent of this policy. Given that ADCaP students are working adults, and most have family responsibilities, the policy is intended to keep the number of course hours per accelerated 8-week term to a level that is reasonable to attain academic excellence. The policy is also established with the knowledge that accreditation agencies would question the academic standards of the ADCaP program if more than 6 hours of course work per term were permitted on a routine basis.

Only under the most extreme circumstances will a student be permitted to take three classes during a term.

Student must petition their academic advisor in writing using the Course Overload Form (See your advisor for copy). Use the form to detail the extenuating circumstances. If the advisor approves the request, a copy of the petition with the advisor’s signature will be placed in the student file. NOTE:Scheduling of courses is subject to change and availability may also change.

In all cases, ADCaP students must consult their advisor, prior to registering for an Online course.
