Luau (SGA Luau )

Come to the Luau on Saturday, August 22nd after Cardinal Camp 2009. Put on your best tropical outfit and join us for great food, fun, and prizes.

Activities Fair (images)

The Activities Fair was held on August 26th. This fair is a great opportunity for all of the organizations to recruit new members. If you are not already involved in an organization, stop by the SGA office for more information about joining one. We can also help you start a new student organization.

Heritage Day

This event on October 14th will commemorate the rich history and heritage of UIW. Learn more about how UIW was founded, our relationship with Christus Santa Rosa, and the significant contributions made to our community.

Open Forum

This is your opportunity to meet with campus administrators. They will be available to address your questions, concerns, and issues about UIW. Free food!!!

Golden Harvest (images)

This year, October 24th, will be SGA’s 22nd annual Golden Harvest event.  UIW student organizations will go out in the community to collect food. Last year, more than 250 students articipated.  It was a great year for collecting; overall SGA gathered 2.0 tons of food.  Student organization winners in 2008 collecting the greatest amount of food were: Ethics Club, Campus Ministry, and the Business Club. Each group received $150. We hope to see all of you there!

Waffle Mania (images)

Waffle Mania is held twice a year for all students of UIW.  The fall date is Sunday, December 6. This event is put on by SGA’s awesome senators who set up and serve the waffles from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. on the Sunday before finals week.  There will be lots of waffles, lots of people, lots of syrup and lots of studying. 

Basketball Tailgate Party

We need Crazy Cardinals fans to cheer our men and women to victory against our arch rival, St. Mary's University. This event is a joint effort of SGA, Campus Activities Board, Student Center/Leadership Activities, Athletics, Alumni Office, and everyone who has school spirit. Date: TBA

Mulch Madness

This event is held during the spring semester. The last event was on Friday, February 20 at the Villages of Incarnate Word, which is adjacent to UIW. The students met in the Student Center at 9 am. Free breakfast and lunch were provided. This is a great way to earn off-campus community service hours.

UIW Day

This is an annual spring event which was held on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Events for the day will include a picnic at the Clocktower, a Cardinal Carnival sponsored by CAB, an Incarnate Word Day Liturgy, Presentation of the CCVI Spirit Award, followed by a reception, and a Pierre Lecture.

Awards Banquet

This semi-formal event took place on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, celebrating all of the efforts by student organizations and athletics to make UIW the best place to be. Student organizations were recognized for exemplary service and school spirit events, and getting freshmen involved in our campus community.
