CREATING ART, CREATING FRIENDSHIPChildren1

Youth and children are invited to make art for and to write letters to these Iraqi children and others.

Last year less than 30% of Iraqi children had regular school because of ander and damages.  Four million Iraqis have become refugees and about half of them are children.  These photos are from St. Peter and St. Paul’s Melkite Catholic Church in Amman, Jordan, which has a center for some of the children who have fled from Iraq.*

To see some of the art of Iraqi children, to borrow an exhibit, or to learn about how children in your area could exchange art with the Webdeh Center in this church in Amman, Jordan, see www.IraqiChildrensArt.org.

To participate in a youth exchange with letters carried to and from Baghdad, write:

*This summer Sister Martha Ann Kirk, a teacher  at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, took these photos.
